  • Telluride’s stunning mountain scenery comes with an altitude of 8,750 feet, which can cause mild symptoms like shortness of breath, headache, or fatigue. To help your body adjust, stay hydrated, be mindful of alcohol intake, and take it easy the first day. If you feel unwell, local hotels and pharmacies offer remedies like oxygen and over-the-counter medications.

  • We highly recommend Oxygen Delivers for any oxygen needs during your stay in Telluride. Visit oxygendelivers.com or call (970) 728-7279 to reserve your oxygen now.

  • Fall in Telluride brings crisp mountain air, golden aspens, and quickly changing weather, so layering is key. Days are usually mild, but evenings turn cold fast. Locals favor a mountain-chic style — casual yet polished. Think jeans, cozy sweaters, flannels, and puffer vests for daytime, with stylish boots or sneakers. For evenings, swap in a wool coat or leather jacket, dressy ankle boots, and a scarf. The vibe is laid-back but elevated — functional pieces with a touch of luxury, perfect for the outdoors and cozy dinners alike.

  • Operating Hours: Everyday 6:30a.m. to Midnight

The towns of Telluride and Mountain Village are linked by a spectacular, 12-minute ride on a free gondola—the first and only free public transportation system of its kind in the United States. Passengers can load the gondola in either Mountain Village or Telluride and ride to the midway point (San Sophia) and then continue on to the other side.

  • In early-September, Telluride typically enjoys cool, crisp weather with daytime highs in the mid to upper 60s °F and nighttime lows in the 30s to low 40s °F. Light rain is possible, but heavy storms are rare. It’s best to dress in layers—light clothing for daytime and a warm jacket for evenings. The mountains begin showing early fall colors, making it a beautiful time to visit.
