air travel

We recommend flying into Montrose (MTJ) or Telluride (TEX) for all air travel.

MTJ is the largest, closest airport with services from most commercial airlines. Shuttles and rental car options are available to get to Telluride easily. Please note, Lyft and Uber rides are not typically available from this airport therefore we strongly recommend booking ground transportation services in advance.
Telluride Regional Airport (TEX) is a 10-minute drive to Telluride and is small regional airport that offers commercial service from PHX and DEN via Denver Air Connection. It also offers FBO services (KTEX)

Other options are below based on your needs, but are not highly recommended due to longer travel times to Telluride:

Durango - DRO: 2.5 hours Southwest of Telluride.
Grand Junction - GJT: 2.5 hours North of Telluride.
Gunnison - GUC: 2.5 hours Southwest of Telluride.
Denver - DEN: 6.5 hours North of Telluride.
Albuquerque - ABQ: 5.5 hours South of Telluride.

Due to Telluride's walkability, we recommend hiring a shuttle to transport you and your party to and from the airport.

Tellurides: Private car service or shared ride shuttles are available for hire.
San Juan Limo : Private car service, please use SJLK2 for 10% discount.

Telluride Express: Private car service or shared ride shuttles are available with door-to-door service to/from Montrose, Grand Junction and Durango airports. Call (970) 728-6000 to book.
Rental Car: Cars are certainly not needed during your stay, unless you plan on exploring the region.
Telluride Carts: Electric carts are a great way to navigate Telluride & Mountain Village. Note, these are only allowed in town limits and you must be 25+ to drive.
